However, I thought that it is about time to actually start contributing in any small way that I can. Introducing G1 Ravage Concept.<br /><br />He is special. Ravage (Concept) has paint specially textured to look as though he has a leathery texture. Wrinkled and all. This is the first of my customs with such details. He was painted in black with shades of silver and detailed in purple to simulate some of his G1 roots. He is immensely powerful, capable of delivering a punch with the force of 140 tons. He uses Motormaster's cyclone gun to blow through Autobot barriers and carries a silver ionizer sword with a charge of 50,000 volts. However, owing to the massively conflicting personalities of his component parts - and even more significantly the hatred Breakdown, Drag Strip, Wildrider and Dead End have for their leader Motormaster - he is the most unstable of the Gestalt Transformers. He would be the ultimate Decepticon weapon were it not for the conflict within him.<br /><br />Let's see. It's hard to begin when you have something as epic as this. I'm honestly very tempted to even call this a Henkei Version of Menasor. But before I continue further, credit must be given to those that have embarked on similar projects before. Some of them include Frenzy_Rumble, Ptitvite, Malfunction, Crefigz among the many talented artists out there. This custom colloboration is the product of Thyvipera's engineering as well as my metallic paint applications. Menasor consists of the 5 Stunticons. Each Stunticon has been lovingy customized to perfection. Without further ado, let me elaborate on some of the more interesting mods done to the figure.<br /><br />- Motormaster was given a ball socketed neck which gives him 360 degrees rotation.<br /><br />- A gundam meteor unit was heavily modded to fit into Motormaster's shoulder as a cannon. This special mod even allows it to be mounted to Menasor in the combined mode. Best part, they are activated via magnets.<br /><br />- Wildrider, Breakdown and Deadend were modded with magnets and had Gundam weapons attached to them.<br /><br />- Wildrider and Breakdown had their windshields removed and modded to fit as shields.<br /><br />Well, enough of the small talk. I'll let the pictures do the rest of the explanation. Also, do note that this is a special one of a kind collaboration for Menasor. There will be no more of these similar Menasors from my end as me and Thyvipera run very tight and conflicting schedules. As this is a special auction, zero bidders will not be allowed. We have nothing against new ebayers but past experience has taught us to be very careful. If you are a zero bidder, please contact me before bidding. He's been given utmost care during the customization process. He comes customized Blue LEDs, Chrome Smoke Stacks, Modified headlights as well as my special blend of rich and metallic colours. So I decided to do up this little gem for this week's auction. Rare and beautiful, THS-01. Made of diecast, this 4.3 inch gorgeous is definitely a must have for every Transformers fan. Not only that, he is now fully customized for display. That literally makes him a pretty unique collectible. I can honestly say that this is my favourite toy of all time. And for all you Transformer lovers out there, do not miss a chance to own this one and only THS-01. He is sooooooo hard to customize due to his size. Thus there will not be a '2nd one' out there in the market. I've also included an Actual Galaxy Force Convoy in one of my pictobrowser slide pictures as comparison. Now it's time for some down to earth Henkei customs once again. After the usual preparations, Mirage was given a base of super glossed up white. His shade of blue was custom mixed to give it an accurate G1 scheme. Frenzy Rumble was also kind enough to spare me some amazing no. 26 waterslide decals for me. Mirage is number 10 of my custom henkei line. Please take note that due to its complexity, Mirage like Astrotrain is a one of a kind and I will not be revisiting it in the near future. Also, with this, I am left with Galvatron and Silverstreak. After that I shall release 2 special one of a kind Henkeis not found anywhere else. MP-08. Grimlock! In my opinion, Grimlock is one of the more majestic looking MP toys out there. Probably comparable to even Autobot Commander Optimus Prime. Maybe it's the chrome, maybe it's the bow tie, or maybe it's the fabulous details that Takara has given him such as a eye swap between red and blue chrome among the many. But in any case, that didn't stop me from giving him an upgrade. After the usual preparations were done, Grimlock was coated with silver and shaded. I then mixed smoke grey with my UV gloss and lighly coated him all over. I made sure that no efforts were spared in making him as detailed as possible without compromising his alternate mode as a dinosaur. Even his eyes in Dino mode was painted in metallics! Though that may not be very obvious in the pictures, it looks much deeper in real life. He was finished with an additional 3 layers of UV gloss and wax. Henkei Grimlock. Grimlock was an interesting character to handle. Not only is he not a vehicle, he was always depicted as a dull coloured grey in the G1 line. Grimlock was painted a shade of glossy grey by mixing highly diluted black with super clear gloss. His red at the torse was derived from a custom blend of red that is heavier than my usual glossy red colours. I'm almost at the end of my Henkei line with number 8, Astrotrain. Well almost. His white stripes was painstakingly taped and airbrushed on. His glossy grey was achieved through a very light shade of highly diluted black. I'm taking a quick detour from my Henkei series. Just a quick one though. Introducing Alternity Optimus Prime. As a basic step, I sanded and trimmed tight joints and clips within the Alternity as much as possible. You'll be surprised to know how many black bumps the original toy had all over his red surface in car mode.<br /><br />He was primed with a mixture of plastic and metal primer due to the dual materials found in him. Alternity Optimus Prime was painted using a mix of Tamiya, Hobby, Humbrol, Alclad and SpazStix acrylics, lacquers and enamel paints. He was given a deep shade of my favourite metallic red. His hands were modded with a Gundam's 1/100 fists. I included a Sword Strike Gundam' Schwert Gewehr sword and Gundam Double X's Shield customized to emulate an Energon Sword and Shield. Bumblebee. I was initially amazed when I laid hands on Henkei Bumblebee. I can't seem to understand why he had a white stripe to his side when the G1 version obviously doesn't. That had to go. Jetfire. The technique to Jetfire's paint scheme consists of a fusion between Gundam and Transformers. He was shaded, panel lined and had a layer of metallic red airbrushed on him. White has never been an easy colour to work with due to the numerous layers of paint needed before the desired shade of white is obtained. He was then clear coated and protected with anti UV gloss for that extra radiant shine and protection.<br /><br />Jetfire was given a pair of Gundam 1/100 fists as well as 2 additional weapons. That however didn't stop me from designing an even better colour scheme to complement him. I took some of the best paints that I had and spent countless hours experimenting before I managed to churn out a very metallic looking chromy purple that's close to the stock colours of purple chrome. He has been airbrushed with utmost care and shaded and detailed at every corner possible without turning this fearsome Destron warrior into looking overly colourful. Notice the very limited colour choices on Cyclonus without sacrificing the amount of attention to him. Well, enough said. I'll let the pictures do the talking. Also, I've noticed that not everyone would love Cyclonus to be looking glossy and chromy. So i was shopping and the black sleek box caught my eye. Was very disappointed when I opened the cover to find how dull he looked. The mold reminds me of the Takara Hybrid Series (THS-02) Prime slightly in the sense that the robot mode looks cooler than the truck. The red for the Autobot insignia is a rich red as seen from my G1 Prime sometime back. The Decepticon insignia was given a shade of glossy purple. Many of you would probably be familiar with models of the old 10 inch figure that was designed by griffith_76 quite awhile back. However due to the complexity and prohibitively expensive costs of production, the project was relooked by griffith_76 and shrunk down to a 6.5 inch as it was less complex and more affordable for the masses.<br /><br />Not to be forgotten is Mr Guido Guidi for his amazing artwork in the Hearts of Steel series.<br /><br />This first edition set pair of Hearts of Steel Optimus Prime is designed to be modelled after the Hearts of Steel comics as well as my very own rendering of a Hearts of Steel Nemesis Prime. I set out to do up a more realistic impression of a train as opposed to my usual shiny and reflective customs.<br /><br />The HOS 01A (red/blue) was dry brushed before using coats of red and blue to get a steely outlook for the his parts. Much of his trailer was shaded before being covered with clear blue.<br /><br />HOS 01B (black/gold/teal) was predominantly shaded to achieve his burnt steel look across. His gold was achieved by airbrushing layers of enamels for a richer shade. It's been a tough couple of weeks cracking my brains to find a suitable scheme for the movie Prime, but I must say that I'm pretty happy with the result.<br /><br />This figure is one the main reasons why I wanted to take up customizing initially. I've always wanted to do up a full repaint of the Movie Optimus Prime but it was too complex at first. The multiple layering of colours as well as flames made it a nightmare for most customizers. My G1 Prime enabled me to understand the toy's design better while I planned for a colour concept that would be unique to him. 6 months after my 1st custom, I belief that I've managed to recreate a Movie version of Optimus Prime that is truly aesthetically pleasing.<br /><br />Optimus Prime was given many shades of colours that range from sunset yellow to orange, red and blue. Most of the colours blend smoothly into one another. He was also given a Mirror Chrome finish on certain parts of him. Do note that this is the Hasbro version of Optimus Prime. Almost done. The trailer was pre and post shaded. Gave it a little weathered look. The inner parts of the trailer was dry brushed with 3 shades of silver. The repair dock was given a chromy metallic blue repaint. Just managed to finish up some parts of my Movie Prime. Presenting Battle Roller. Heh. I was in a hurry to take some pictures of him that I've forgotten to gloss him up. That's gonna be taken care of first thing tomorrow morning!<br /><br />Anyway, this toy had some really loose joints from the box. I dripped some super glue to tighten them. He was given a pair of fists from a Gundam figure. I chose the slightly bigger fists as after some comparison, I kinda liked the bigger one better than those that fit him nicely. Even the Metallic/Best buy <span style="color:#33ff33;">Ratchet</span> was not even anywhere near droolsome. He may seem kinda yellowish green in the pictures but in reality, it's a little bit more to the greenish side (just a little). He was meticulously detailed and even his butterfly axe had the red patterns repainted. <span style="color:#33ff33;">Ratchet</span> was shaded and drybrushed and had anti UV gloss smacked on to him. Well, that's that. Always wanted to re-do <span style="color:#33ff33;">Ratchet</span>. So happy that I've finally done it!! And among all my customs, I dare say that pictures do not do <span style="color:#33ff33;">Ratchet</span> any justice as he seriously looks twice as nice as he is resting on my work desk right now.<br /><br />I've also included a special weapon of choice. A 2.4 inch diecast spanner that really works! He's been given some extreme metallics as well as an additional head, recasted to pay tribute to his Binaltech inspiration. I've always been amazed by how Jazz can look so good in red (or any colours for that matter). Deluxe Premium Jazz was given a nice shade of red metallics to emulate Zoom Zoom. As always, I take great pains to clean the figure of any factory residue. He was primed and was given a base coat of supper black to bring out the strength of the metallics. My first non-transformer custom! It's a Macross Weapon Pack which was originally green. I was requested to do a whitish grey shade to make it seem matching with Low Viz. I'm not very familiar with the Macross line but I really tried to do a nice post shading effect with some airbrush/dry brush shading blend on the metal parts. Finished it off with a UV protection coat followed by a dull coat to take the shine off. After my G1 Optimus Prime, I felt that Ironhide deserved a G1 makeover as well. Ironhide was soaked, washed, cleaned and primed before painting. I made sure that the icky sticky factory finish did not interfere with my paint scheme. I applied three layers of shading combined with five shades of dry brushed silver. I gave him a very special metallic vermillion colour for his vehicle mode and topped it off with his G1 yellow stripe which is of a darker and more metallic variation of the typical sunset yellow. Various detailing were done but I was careful not to make Ironhide appear overly 'colourful'. It's finally ready!!!!! My very own custom <span style="color:#ff0000;"><span style="color:#3366ff;">G1</span> Optimus Prime</span> customized from a <span style="color:#ff0000;">Premium Leader Class Optimus Prime</span>. I've seen many great repaints of Optimus Prime but it seems that they're all customized to be as movie accurate as possible (What happened to <span style="color:#3366ff;">G1</span>??). Well, this custom however has broken that trend. It's designed to look as <span style="color:#3366ff;">G1</span> as possible. The only 'flaw' to this repaint, is that due to the transformation from truck to robot, the legs are unable to be totally blue as per the <span style="color:#ff0000;">MP-01</span> mold. Thus this custom is 100% truck accurate and 70% robot accurate.<br /><br />Anyway, this great custom features ultra detailing! I've airbrushed, painted, dry brushed, weathered and highlighted the entire figure to be as realistic as possible!!! Well, let's see. After washed and dry, I gave him a coat of primer followed by a base coat of steel and gold. Anyway, I then gave him a nice overall chrome silver coating as well as 2 layers of gloss coat before I started on his primary colours of specially mixed red and blue paint. <span style="color:#ff0000;">MP-01</span> had a chilli red colour scheme but I felt that it was too common and doesn't do this figure justice. Thus, I settled on a more intense shade of red and blue to give him a deeper character. Body parts were painted with a shade of silver and dry brushed for the steel effect. After all was done, I gave him another layer of gloss coat to seal in the paint before I started on doing some weathering and detailing for him. Before I ended the job, I gave him a glossy UV protection coat to prevent the colour from fading over the years. The end result, an ultimate work of art.<br /><br />It was really fun to do up this mold but the things that peeved me off was that I had to completely unassemble the entire figure for a perfect paint job and that some parts are so tight that chipping is unavoidable no matter what I do. I'll also touch up any imperfections before shipping out. By the way, hehe...I was so excited in creating this character that I forgot to customize the sword!!! But no worries, the sword's a <span style="color:#3366ff;">Work-in-Progress</span>.<br /><br />Also, I realized that unlike the <span style="color:#ff0000;">MP-01</span> mold, I am unable to stick the <span style="color:#ff0000;">Autobot Logos</span> to the shoulders as it should be. I can't seem to decide where to paste the logos so I'll probably just <span style="color:#ff0000;">include </span><span style="color:#ff0000;">2 Autobot logos</span> for the winner. And in case you noticed, parts of the transformation (e.g. the legs) were deliberated so as to prevent unnecessary chips to the toy.<br /><br />It really pains me to see my customs ending up on eBay almost immediately after I'm done but I guess it's not much of an option as I really need the income for my university expenses!!! Well, I decided to try out a Nemesis Prime for the Revoltech line. It's been a real challenge though! I guess I underestimated the challenge in painting this little figurine :p<br /><br />I imagine Nemesis Prime to be one with a dark soul overwhelmed by hatred with a longing for pain. I wanted to bring out the depth of this character through it's very striking red and teal highlights.<br /><br />I used a convoy revoltech to repaint it into the darker more sinister Nemesis Prime! I coated it with primer as the material was kind of rubbery. First time working with such a surface. Gave him a jet black base coat. Think I hit almost 8-10 layers of black and silver paint for him! My favourite was of course the teal. No Nemesis Prime of mine will be complete without teal. His chest plate was given the most sinister red that I could find. Really gave it all I've got into creating the perfect figure with all possible detailing. Too bad I didn't have a Decepticon logo to paste on him. Maybe his new owner could do that? haha.. Probably gonna upload this piece of art to ebay soon if I could get over the loss of this beauty. Tried to give him a stylish diecast feel with detailing. Jazz was airbrushed with multiple layers of specially mixed paint, buffed and finally waxed to get the desired finish.
